Just 20 miles southeast of Linville Falls, you will find the breathtaking Crabtree Falls. To access the falls, pull off of the Blue Ridge Parkway into the Crabtree Meadows Recreation Area. The falls are located at the end of a three-mile loop located amidst a beautiful forest. The falls stand at 60 feet tall and are truly magnificent.
If your legs are tired from the two previous hikes, Looking Glass Falls will offer a welcome reprieve. Looking Glass Falls are located directly off of U.S. 276 along the Forest Heritage Scenic Byway. The pool at the bottom of the falls is open for swimming and wading. So, come prepared to take a dip in the crisp water – or simply soak up the area’s natural beauty from the rocks nearby.
Next, take a short detour south to view Moore Cove Falls. The water here flows at a steady, delicate pace year round. To access the falls, park at the Moore Cove Trailhead along US-276. Visitors will take an easy 3/4 mile walk over a footbridge and graded trail to the base of the falls. You can easily walk behind the veil of the falls, or simply take in the view from the viewing deck.
